Organisations beginning the sustainability journey can feel like they are entering a 'green maze'.

Words like 'sustainable', 'green', or 'eco-friendly' can have vague connotations so the thought of entering the sustainability movement can be worrying... and many have delayed entering altogether.

Join us for an interesting panel discussion with MICHAEL DUGGAN, Managing Director of FWR Group, an experienced consultant, educator, trainer and sustainability facilitator, NATALIE DILLON, Marketing Director of 3Fish, a Melbourne-based market leader in ethical sourcing in the promotional marketing industry and ANGELA DAY, Senior Communications Consultant in Corporate Communications for ENERGEX who managed the launch of ENERGEX's first Peak Demand Advertising Campaign to raise awareness in the public about the impact of power use at peak times.

Natalie Dillon

Natalie Dillon

Marketing Director, 3Fish

Natalie honed her marketing expertise with names like Deloitte, Arthur Robinson & Hedderwicks and Vanguard Investments before embarking on parenthood and being delivered one of the most critical wake-up calls of all, a premature baby in intensive care.
Invigorated and inspired with by a fresh reminder that life is short and should be lived to create a better world for all the generations hence, Natalie co-founded, with husband Marty, 3Fish, provider of sustainable promotional product options, and the fastest growing fairtrade clothing company in Woodend. And so, equipped with the experience of managing national campaigns, global tenders, events, branding, communications, marketing planning and strategy, these days Natalie uses the skills of the dark side for good over evil.

3Fish now supports national promotional marketing campaigns with sustainability as a baseline, has a retail brand of fairtrade, organic cotton, carbon neutral clothing stocked in 80 of the most lovely high street stores around Australia, and works with thinkers and doers, the likes of John Butler Trio, Mambo (Europe), The Global Poverty Project, World Vision, Compassion, The Greens, Origin Energy, RMIT and University of Technology, Sydney.

Natalie firmly believes marketing decision making with sustainability as a baseline is no longer an option but an imperative; that every dollar spent has the opportunity to create change, and given that the knowledge and options are available, the potential damage to brands that choose not to put sustainability at the core of their marketing framework is enormous.

Natalie will discuss this, in light of:

  • Global data, statistics and growth of fair trade in particular, and with reference to Mobium research
  • What fairtrade is and how it is being used in companies today
  • Understanding the benefit of 3rd party accreditations in establishing 'green' credentials and the pitfalls of 'green claims'
  • Creating or maintaining a commercially successful company while 'going green'
  • How 'going green' is a journey you can take your clients and customers on with you
