Joe is the Managing Partner and the Founder of The Contenders, a brand and business design business based in Melbourne. 

Born in England, Joe spent his childhood in South America and Canada, while his professional career has seen him lead brand communication agencies in Africa, North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. During this time Joe has worked extensively with leading brands including Levi’s, Wal-Mart, Unilever, Danone, Wesfarmers and LVMH. 

With over twelve years’ of senior agency management, business strategy and brand development experience Joe is skilled at developing game changing ideas for clients that deliver commercial results. Joe has core competencies in brand, digital and design strategy and his past experience has focused on the Retail, FMCG and Services sectors helping businesses large and small to meet their audiences in a unique and distinct way. 

He lives in Melbourne with his wife, Megan, Daughters Ava and Maia, and their black lab, Dewey.

Currently positioned as the Head of Marketing for Flight Centre Australia, Jason is marketing executive with nearly 15 years of experience in the industry. Having worked in Marketing across brands that include Flight Centre, Supercheap Auto, BCF, Beaurepaires and McDonald's, Jason's marketing background covers advertising in the digital and traditional media space, brand positioning, customer segmentation and targeting, CRM, social media and eCommerce.

Jason's experience outside of marketing includes also having held senior roles in retail operations, merchandise and corporate strategy development, providing him with a strong background in category management, multi site operations, due diligence and acquisitions. His approach to marketing would be best described as customer centric with a strong focus on commercial outcomes and customer engagement.

Senior Digital Strategist, Queensland Urban Utilities

Margarita is currently responsible for managing and leading the Customer Digital Strategy and digital vision for Queensland Urban Utilities, one of Australia's largest water companies. 

Margarita’s experience extends across all things digital; from leading the social media strategy for an Australian-first gamification-based social behaviour change program, to developing the digital and social strategy to launch one of the largest international fashion brands in Australia. 

She is experienced in managing both traditional and digital marketing campaigns across a range of industries, including FMCG, fashion, sustainability, utilities and retail. Her work has been recognised and highlighted at The Webby’s as an honouree, as well as multiple other industry awards including BADC, iAwards and AIMIA.

She was formerly the President of The Communications Council’s ‘QLD Youngbloods’, a regular guest speaker and contributor within the Australian digital industry, and mentor for the Women in Digital (WiD) mentorship program. Margarita holds a Business Management degree from The University of Queensland.

Laura Campbell is a Director at  Deloitte Digital. Laura’s career has run the full gamut of digital, PR and strategic marketing. She has specialist skills in developing and optimising online channels, which have been formed in her roles both internationally and domestically across a wide variety of industries including banking and finance, tourism and online retail. 

Laura’s committed to providing channel of choice for customers and hence devises solutions that cohesively deliver digital and offline customer experiences. A natural leader, Laura has formed and led dynamic, results-driven teams, and sets an example to others with her inquisitive outlook and high level of personal accountability.
