Managing Director, The Talea Group and author of 'Networking Exposed'

Lisa Butler is the Director and Founder of The Talea Group.  Recently established following a successful 10 year growth as co-Director of Paragon Associates, Talea helps its clients to enhance their business performance and returns by developing their communication capability. Talea typically works with major corporations and businesses across professional services, banking and finance, IT, insurance, energy, construction, engineering and recruitment.

Lisa has over 20 years experience in learning and development and human resources, spending five years in law firms in Australia and the UK.  Lisa’s areas of expertise include instructional design, training consulting, facilitation and skill development in bidding, as well as design and delivery of a range of communication skills programs including networking, presenting, business writing, leadership, team development, coaching, and strategic facilitation.

Prior to establishing The Talea Group and Paragon Associates, Lisa enjoyed a successful career within the professional services, finance and transport sectors. Lisa started her career in consulting with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) before moving into the transport industry in Queensland. Within this environment Lisa developed her skills in training needs analysis, design, development and delivery of a wide range of technical and communication programs aimed at all levels of management and staff. This experience included off site management development programs using adventure based learning techniques.

Lisa is also the author of "Networking Exposed - Discover the secrets of business networking".

Rhys Furner

Rhys Furner

Digital Strategy Manager, Reload Business Group

Rhys Furner is the Digital Strategy Manager for Reload Business Group across Australia and New Zealand. Day to day, Rhys' role involves consulting to a range of businesses and government departments on how to maximise their digital marketing and business performance. Rhys has been a major part of Reload Business Group's growth and worldwide expansion by spearheading the company's business development to now boast over 500 clients globally including Subway, Signet, GlaxoSmithKline, Next Byte, Jetts, QBD, Tyrepower, and more.

Rhys, a digital native and an avid networker has taken to utilising social media and online channels to generate new business opportunities like a duck to water. He enjoys challenging the norms of business development and exploring new opportunities as the digital landscape constantly changes. Rhys strives for perfection in all sales environments and believes that creating lasting rapport with clients and partners is more important than mastering the 'hard sell'.

Cat Matson is Brisbane's Chief Digital Officer, overseeing the citywide Digital Brisbane strategy. Under the strategy, Cat is responsible for driving economic growth through digital adoption in the SME sector, strengthening the city's digital start-up ecosystem and facilitating Cyber City initiatives. Recently named as a rising female in the technology sector by the Sydney Morning Herald, Cat is considered an industry leader when it comes to the digital space, with a savvy business mind and a robust understanding of the wider business context.
