Jenny Williams

Chief Marketing Officer, Compare the Market

Jenny Williams has been in technology-driven marketing (on and offline) for over 30 years. She has worked across Australia, Asia, America and Europe and is focused on driving innovation, growth and the evolution of the digital marketing industry.

Jenny was appointed to her current role as CMO of market-leading comparison service comparethemarket.com.au, to fast-track the company’s transformation into a truly customer-centric business by diversifying its consumer interactions and relationships. She is also responsible for evolving one of Australia’s most-loved brand assets – the meerkats.
Previously, she was CMO of The Hospitals Contribution Fund of Australia (HCF), one of Australia’s largest combined health and life insurance organisations. Jenny was responsible for driving a complete brand and digital transformation, with a focus on redefining the customer experience. This ultimately led to HCF being awarded "Brand of the Year".

Starting her career in software development, Jenny rose through the ranks to hold roles such as Regional Director of McCann Relationship Marketing (MRM), Head of Interactive for MRM Asia Pacific and Managing Director of Tribal DDB Australia, during which time Tribal was awarded Agency of the Year for three years running. 

Leaving agency life in 2016, Jenny started her own consulting business Ideagarden, which she ran for seven years until moving to a client side role as the CMO of HCF. 

Jenny is an active participant in digital industry associations, and speaks frequently at conferences on various aspects of digital and the impact it has had on both the marketing and advertising industries. She has developed and run training programs for AdSchool and private clients, and has participated at board level on change management, particularly in relation to digital. 

With a strong focus on digital, jenny has worked with marketers, agencies and media companies to implement major digital change either through the evolution or the creation of totally new business models.

Nigel Dalton

Nigel Dalton

Chief Inventor, REA Group

Chief Inventor of REA Group, Nigel Dalton is a passionate lean and agile technology leader. Nigel has over 25 years of IT-related experience across government, multi-nationals and start-ups. 

In 2007 he joined travel publisher Lonely Planet as General Manager of Information Technology, becoming Deputy Director of Digital (web and mobile businesses) in 2010. He has been involved in several startups, most recently co-founding a consultancy, Luna Tractor, to help organisations apply systems thinking, lean and agile software development techniques to all aspects of business.

Previously, Nigel held roles with AXA Australia, online human resource startup ePredix in the USA (now owned by SHL), as well as Silicon Systems and Mitsubishi Electric in New Zealand.

At REA Group Nigel heads up the REALABS team. This team are responsible for ensuring REA is ahead of the curve with future technology and social trends, both in the real estate space, and beyond.

John Cosgrove is a passionate advocate for data democracy and data-driven work. Having been responsible for providing complex predictions and modelling to both government and enterprise, he became convinced that the ‘ivory tower’ approach to BI reporting could never unlock the full value potential of the technology – instead, insights had to be embedded directly into end-user workflows. This concept required a completely different type of tech stack, one which appeared with the release of Salesforce Einstein Analytics. The confluence of big data technology, cloud application layers, mobility and an increasing need to compete on the quality of human connections created the opportunity to launch a new way of designing CRM systems.

Now, John exclusively works with businesses who want to put data in the hands of every employee – sales people, service agents, marketers – but to do it in a way that is fun, engaging and which is seamlessly a part of their daily work lives. This idea of ‘data-driven work’ has grown into one of the hottest topics in both CRM and cloud BI, but a relentless focus on the user, not the report, has positioned John and his team at the forefront of the movement.

James is a senior digital manager passionate about strategy, innovation and value delivery. He's led the delivery of apps and websites for the likes of Spotify, MTV and Northwestern Mutual, managed digital marketing in B2C and B2B contexts, and developed products leveraging augmented reality, machine learning and artificial intelligence. 
 
James is a Non-Executive Director at Metro Arts and an MBA candidate with Deakin University.
