Originally from New Zealand, Ralph started his advertising at Saatchi & Saatchi then spent the next 18 years working in both Australia and London working for major networks such as DDB and McCann Erickson and Rapp Colins. He returned to Brisbane 5 years ago and is working at SapientNitro as Creative Director and idea engineer.

Ralph was one of the creatives behind the ‘Best Job in the World’ campaign and as a result was ranked the number one art director in the world in 2010.  Industry award highlights include 3 Cannes Grand Prix as well as securing Australia’s first and only D&AD Black Pencils.  SapientNitro (formerly CumminsNitro) is one of Queensland’s largest agencies and specialises in brand, retail, direct and digital marketing. SapientNitro Brisbane has had great success at both international and local awards for their creative andstrategic work. SapientNitro was awarded Queensland State Agency of the Year by both AdNews and B&T in 2008 and 2009, and International Boutique Agency of the Year by New York Festivals in 2009.  The Brisbane based client list is a mix of global, national, state and local brands including Tourism Queensland, PPQ, Stockland, Brisbane Marketing, Mars Snackfoods and SuperCheap Auto Group.

Director, Advertising & Design

Italian-born, Australian bred, Dario founded Grand Brands in 2007 after working for APN News and Media in both production and creative positions.  His guiding mission was to build an agency that could deliver communication solutions that were not only visually appealing, but also made business sense.  It is this mindset that is the foundation of all Grand Brands projects, translating into measurable and effective outcomes.  As director of advertising and design at Grand Brands, Dario sets the creative strategy for clients, managing projects from concept through to delivery.

Grand Brands now operates as a team of seven from an office in the inner Brisbane suburb of Hawthorne, having built for itself a core client base in the not for profit, property development and hospitality industries.  Current clients include Sleepy's, SIDS and Kids Queensland, Save the Children Australia and Zupps.  The agency takes a full service approach to brand development, delivering strategic solutions that span digital, print and public relations, often partnering with clients right from the brand name development through to the tactical execution of marketing strategy.

Four years ago Black Milk Clothing didn’t exist. Then one day in 2009, James Lillis sold a pair of leggings for $10 that he’d stitched together around his kitchen table. The dream was launched. Two and half years later Black Milk Clothing is a multi-million dollar, 100% Australian-owned business employing 150 people and selling out of everything they make… driven by an unbelievably loyal following of raving fans, 500,000+ of them on Facebook, alone!  Not to mention the 50+ 'meet-up' groups that connect globally, all manned by volunteers who have a shared pasion and love for Black Milk.  Oh, and they’ve done this on a modest marketing budget of ZERO DOLLARS! Yep, nudda. Zip! 

So sit back, pull on some shiny leggings and listen up as Cameron Parker (Black Milk’s first employee) shares with us exactly how they've driven and encouraged their customers to post thousands of selfies every day across their entire social media and website using hash tags.  Cameron has over 11 years of Marketing and Advertising experience  working in Australia and the UK.

Cat Matson is Brisbane's Chief Digital Officer, overseeing the citywide Digital Brisbane strategy. Under the strategy, Cat is responsible for driving economic growth through digital adoption in the SME sector, strengthening the city's digital start-up ecosystem and facilitating Cyber City initiatives. Recently named as a rising female in the technology sector by the Sydney Morning Herald, Cat is considered an industry leader when it comes to the digital space, with a savvy business mind and a robust understanding of the wider business context.
